28 વર્ષના કેવલ કક્કા નામના યુવા ભારતીય પર્વતારોહકે ચાલી રહેલી સિઝનમાં માત્ર છ જ દિવસમાં માઉન્ટ ઍવરેસ્ટ સહિત 8000 મીટર કરતા વધુ ઊંચાઈ ધરાવતા બે પર્વત સર કરી લીધા હોવાનું નેપાળના પ્રસારમાધ્યમના અહેવાલમાં મંગળવારે જણાવવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
કેવલ હીરેન કક્કાએ મંગળવારે તા.21મી મે 2019ના રોજ વિશ્વમાં ચોથા ક્રમાંકનો સૌથી ઊંચો માઉન્ટ લ્હાત્સે પર્વત સર કરી લીધો હતો.
નવ સભ્યની ટીમનું નેતૃત્વ કરી રહેલા મુંબઈસ્થિત પર્વતારોહક હીરેને મંગળવારે તા.22મી મે 2019ની સવારે 6:30 વાગ્યે પર્વતના શિખર પર પગ મૂક્યો હતો, એમ આ પર્વતારોહણ અભિયાનનું આયોજન કરનાર સતોરી ઍડવેન્ચર્સ પ્રા.લિ.ના મેનેજિંગ ડિરેક્ટર રિશી ભંડારીએ કહ્યું હતું. 16મી મેએ કક્કાએ માઉન્ટ ઍવરેસ્ટનું શિખર સર કર્યું હોવાનું સમાચારપત્રના અહેવાલમાં જણાવવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
કૅનેડિયન પર્વતારોહક મૅથ્યુસ વનૉર્નના નેતૃત્વ હેઠળ માઉન્ટ ઍવરેસ્ટ સર કરનાર 13 સભ્યની ટીમનો પણ તે હિસ્સો હતો, એમ ભંડારીએ કહ્યું હતું
કક્કાએ માઉન્ટ ટિબ્બા (6001 મીટર), માઉન્ટ હનુમાન ટિબ્બા (5932 મીટર), માઉન્ટ ફ્રૅન્ડશિપ (5289 મીટર), માઉન્ટ લૉબુચે ઈસ્ટ (6019 મીટર), માઉન્ટ સ્ટૉક કાન્ગરી (6049 મીટર), માઉન્ટ માનાસ્લુ (8163 મીટર)ના પર્વતારોહણ અભિયાનથી તેની કારકિર્દીની શરૂઆત કરી હતી.
નેપાળની પર્વતારોહણ માર્ગદર્શકોની આઠ સભ્યની ટુકડીએ સફળતાપૂર્વક માઉન્ટ ઍવરેસ્ટ સર કર્યા બાદ આ વરસે 14 મેએ પર્વતારોહણની સિઝન શરૂ થઈ હતી.
માઉન્ટ ઍવરેસ્ટની ઊંચાઈ 8848 મીટર અને માઉન્ટ લ્હાત્સેની ઊંચાઈ 8526 મીટર છે.
આખરે ગુજરાતમાં એન્જિનિયરિંગ કોલેજોના પહેલા વર્ષ માટે તેમજ ફાર્મસી કોલેજોના પહેલા વર્ષમાં પ્રવેશ માટે જરૂરી પીન નંબર (14 આંકડાનો પીન) તેમજ બુકલેટનું વિતરણ તેમજ સમગ્ર પ્રવેશ પ્રક્રિયાની તારીખોનું એલાન એડમિશન કમિટી ફોર પ્રોફેશનલ કોર્સ દ્વારા જાહેર કરવામાં આવ્યું છે.
ધો.12 પીસીએમ પાસ કરનારા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને તેમના વાલીઓ ઉચાટમાં હતા, કેમકે અનેક જાહેરાતો થઇ પણ પ્રવેશ પ્રક્રિયા શરૂ થઇ શકી ન હતી. એડમિશન કમિટીએ તા.17મી મે શુક્રવારે સમગ્ર પ્રવેશ પ્રક્રિયા જાહેર કરી છે જેના સત્તાવાર કાર્યક્રમો નીચે મુજબ છે.

ફાર્મસીમાં એ ગ્રુપ અને બી ગ્રુપ બન્નેના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પ્રવેશ મેળવી શકે છે, ફાર્મસીમાં પ્રવેશ માટેનું લઘુત્તમ ધોરણ ધો.12 પીસીએમ, પીસીબી પાસ છે.
ભારતીય ક્રિકેટ ટીમ વિરાટ કોહલીની કપ્તાનીમાં આઇસીસી વર્લ્ડ કપનો તેનો ત્રીજો ખિતાબ જીતવા 22મીએ અહીંથી ઇંગ્લેન્ડ જવા રવાના થશે. 30 મેથી ઇંગ્લેન્ડમાં વર્લ્ડ કપનો પ્રારંભ થઈ રહ્યો છે. ભારતનો પહેલો મેચ તા.પ જૂને દ. આફ્રિકા સામે સાઉથમ્પટનમાં છે. એ પહેલા ભારતીય ટીમ બંગલાદેશ અને ન્યુઝિલેન્ડ સામે અભ્યાસ મેચ રમશે.
આઇપીએલને લીધે ટીમ ઇન્ડિયાના પસંદ થયેલા 1પ ખેલાડીનો કોઇ કન્ડિશનિંગ કેમ્પ યોજાયો નથી. બધા ખેલાડી 21મીએ મુંબઈમાં ભેગા થશે. 21મીએ સાંજે બીસીસીઆઈના ક્રિકેટ સેન્ટરમાં કેપ્ટન વિરાટ કોહલી અને કોચ રવિ શાત્રીની પત્રકાર પરિષદ યોજાશે. જો કે હજુ એ સ્પષ્ટ થયું નથી કે ઇજાગ્રસ્ત કેદાર જાધવ ટીમ સાથે ઇંગ્લેન્ડ જશે કે નહીં ?

હાલમાં જ સમાપ્ત થયેલ આઇપીએલમાં કેટલાક સ્ટાર ખેલાડીઓએ સારું પ્રદર્શન કર્યું છે. સૌથી વધુ કેએલ રાહુલે પ93 અને શિખર ધવને પ21 રન કર્યા હતા. ઓલરાઉન્ડર તરીકે હાર્દિક પંડયાએ દમદાર દેખાવ કર્યો હતો જ્યારે બોલિંગમાં બુમરાહ અને શમીએ જોરદાર દેખાવ કર્યો હતો.
કરણ જોહરના સ્ટુડન્ટ બોક્સ ઓફિસ પર પાસ થયા નથી. કરણ જોહરના પ્રોડક્શન હાઉસની અને પૂનિત મલ્હોત્રાના ડાયરેક્શનમાં બનેલી બિગ બજેટની ફિલ્મ સ્ટુડન્ટ ઓફ ધ યર-2એ બોક્સ ઓફિસ પર નબળો દેખાવ કર્યો છે. સોમવારે આ ફિલ્મના કલેક્શનમાં પપ ટકાનો ઘટાડો આવ્યો હતો.
સોમવારે સ્ટુડન્ટના બીજા ભાગે માત્ર પ.2પ કરોડનો જ વકરો કર્યો હતો. આથી કરણ જોહરની આ ફિલ્મ બોક્સ ઓફિસ પર એવરેજ સાબિત થઈ છે. 100 કરોડ સુધી પહોંચે તેવી શક્યતા નથી. વધીને 60-70 કરોડ આસપાસ પહોંચી શકે તેમ છે. તેની કુલ કમાણી 43 કરોડ થઈ છે. કરણ જોહરના પ્રોડક્શન હાઉસની આ પહેલા રીલિઝ થયેલી મોટા બજેટની ફિલ્મ કલંક સુપર ફલોપ રહી હતી.
સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડની સ્કુલોમાં ગુજરાત બોર્ડની સ્કુલો કરતા સારુ શિક્ષણ મળતું હોવાની વાત માની શકાય પરંતુ, સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડની સ્કુલોની બીજી કેટલીક નબળાઇઓ વિદ્યાર્થીઓને જીવનભર ભારે પડી શકે તેમ છે. સુરતની રાયન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ, રેડિયેન્ટ સ્કુલ, એસ.ડી. જૈન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ વગેરે સ્કુલમાં ધો.12 સાયન્સ ભણીને પાસ થયેલા વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ગુજકેટ-2019ની પરીક્ષા આ વખતે આપી નહીં હોવાથી તેમના માટે ગુજરાત ટેક્નોલોજીકલ યુનિવર્સિટી સંચાલિત એન્જિનિયરિંગ, ફાર્મસી કે એગ્રિકલ્ચર જેવા કોઇ જ અભ્યાસક્રમમાં મેરીટ ધરાવતા હોવા છતાં પ્રવેશ નહીં મળે.
ઉપરોક્ત ત્રણેય સ્કુલોના વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે તેમને સ્કુલમાંથી ક્યારેય એવી સમજણ આપવામાં આવી ન હતી કે તેમણે ગુજકેટ જેવી ગુજરાત બોર્ડની પરીક્ષા આપવી જોઇએ. પરિસ્થિતિ એ આવીને ઉભી છે કે એક તરફ ગુજરાતમાં એન્જિનિયરિંગ કોલેજોમાં સીટો ખાલી પડી રહેશે અને બીજી તરફ સીબીએસઇના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સારા ટકા લાવ્યા હોવા છતાં ગુજકેટના અભાવે પ્રવેશ નહીં મેળવી શકે.
જેઇઇ મેઇન્સનું પરીણામ સાવ ખરાબ આવ્યું અને સીબીએસઇ સ્કુલોના વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ગુજકેટ આપી નહીં, હવે એન્જિનિયરિંગ કોલેજોમાં ક્યાંયે પ્રવેશ નહીં મળી શકે
સુરતમાં સીબીએસઇ બોર્ડ સાથે સંલગ્ન રાયન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ, રેડિયેન્ટ સ્કુલ, એસ.ડી. જૈન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ વગેરે સ્કુલોના સંચાલકો અને આચાર્યો એમના મગજમાં એવી રાય ભરીને જ ચાલતા હોય છે કે તેમને બધી જ બાબતોનો ખ્યાલ છે. પરંતુ, આ વખતે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને વાલીઓ તેમના મગજમાંથી રાય કાઢી નાંખે તેવી સ્થિતિ પેદા થઇ છે.
ધો.11-12 સાયન્સમાં અભ્યાસ કરતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ફક્ત નીટ અને જેઇઇની તૈયારી કરવાની સલાહ આપતા સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડની સ્કુલોના સંચાલકો, આચાર્યો અને શિક્ષકોના પાપે આ વખતે સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડના સેંકડો વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ધો.12 સાયન્સમાં સારું પરીણામ લાવ્યાં હોવા છતાં તેઓ ગુજરાતની એન્જિનિયરિંગ, ફાર્મસી કે એગ્રિકલ્ચર કોલેજોમાં પ્રવેશ નહીં મેળવી શકે. એક તરફ જેઇઇ મેઇન્સનું પરીણામ પાછલા વર્ષોની તુલનામાં અત્યંત કડક આવ્યું છે અને મોટા ભાગના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ એડવાન્સ માટેની લાયકાત સુદ્ધાં મેળવી શક્યા નથી, તો એન.આઇ.ટી. કે ત્રિપલ આઇટીમાં પ્રવેશ મળવાની વાત તો દૂર રહીં.
એક અબ્રામા સ્થિત પી.પી. સવાણી સ્કુલ સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડની એકમાત્ર એવી શાળા છે જ્યાં ધો.11-12ના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને દરેકે દરેક પ્રવેશ પરીક્ષા અંગે અગાઉથી માહિતગાર કરીને તે અંગેની પૂર્વ તૈયારી કરાવવામાં આવે છે. એ સિવાય મોટા ભાગની સીબીએસઇ સ્કુલોના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને કારકિર્દી માર્ગદર્શનના નામે મીંડું આપવામાં આવે છે.
મગજમાં આઇએમ સમથીંગનો ફાંકો રાખીને ફરતા સીબીએસઇ સ્કુલોના સંચાલકો અને આચાર્યો ધો.11-12 સાયન્સના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એવું પણ ગાઇડન્સ આપી ન શક્યા કે તેમણે ગુજકેટ જેવી પ્રવેશ પરીક્ષાનું ફોર્મ ભરવું જોઇએ
સીબીએસઇની સ્કુલોએ જો તેમના ધો.12 સાયન્સના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એવી સલાહ, સમજણ આપી હોત કે જેઇઇ મેઇન્સની સાથે ગુજકેટની પરીક્ષા આપવાથી ગુજરાતની એન્જિનિયરિંગ કોલેજો, ફાર્મસી કોલેજો, એગ્રિકલ્ચર કોલેજોમાં પ્રવેશ મળશે અને તેના માટે ગુજકેટ જરૂરી છે તો કદાચ સેંકડો વિદ્યાર્થીઓનું ભાવિ બગડતા બચી ગયું હોત.
લેખક કરીયર કાઉન્સલર હોવાના નાતે અત્યાર સુધીમાં રાયન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ, રેડિયેન્ટ સ્કુલ, એસ.ડી. જૈન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ વગેરેના 125થી વધુ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પર્સનલ કાઉન્સેલિંગ માટે રૂબરૂ મળ્યા ત્યારે આ વાતનો ઘટસ્ફોટ વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ કર્યો કે તેમને ક્યારેય સ્કુલ તરફથી એવી સમજ, સલાહ કે ગાઇડન્સ આપવામાં આવ્યું ન હતું કે જેઇઇની સાથે તેમણે ગુજકેટની પરીક્ષા પણ આપવી જોઇએ. જો વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એ વાતની પહેલેથી જ જાણકારી હોત તો તેઓ આજે એન્જિનિયરિંગ કોલેજમાં સાવ જ પ્રવેશથી વંચિત ન રહી ગયા હોત.
સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડની સ્કુલોના ગુજકેટની પરીક્ષા નહીં આપનારા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને તેમના વાલીઓની હાલ તો પગતળેથી ધરતી ખસી ગઇ છે કેમકે હવે તેમની પાસે સહારો માત્ર બી.એસસી.માં પ્રવેશનો બચ્યો છે પરંતુ, તેમને થયેલા આ નુકસાનની જવાબદારી કોની, સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડનું એક વખત એફિલિયેશન મેળવી લીધા બાદ હાટડીની જેમ સ્કુલો ચલાવતા સંચાલકોને સ્વપનેય ખ્યાલ નહીં હોય કે તેમણે વિદ્યાર્થીઓનું કેટલું અહીત કર્યું હશે.
ગુજકેટની પરીક્ષા નહીં આપનારા રાયન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલ, રેડિયેન્ટ સ્કુલ, એસ.ડી. જૈન ઇન્ટરનેશનલ સ્કુલના સેંકડો વિદ્યાર્થીઓની સ્થિતિ ન કહેવાય ન સહેવાય જેવી થઇ
પોતાના સંતાનોને સીબીએસઇ સ્કુલોમાં અભ્યાસ કરાવવા માટે અધીરા બની રહેલા વાલીઓ, માબાપ માટે ઉપરોક્ત કિસ્સો આંખ ઉઘાડનારો છે. સીબીએસઇ સ્કુલો શિક્ષણ ભલે સારું આપે, સીબીએસઇમાં ટીચર્સની ક્વોલિટી ગુજરાત બોર્ડના શિક્ષકો કરતા સારી હોય પણ અન્ય બાબતોમાં સેન્ટ્રલ બોર્ડના સંચાલકોની અજ્ઞાનતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓનું ભવિષ્ય બગાડી નાંખે તેટલી જવાબદાર બને છે.
સુરતમાં ખાસ કરીને લોઅર મિડલ ક્લાસના યંગસ્ટર્સ પોતાના મિત્રની બર્થ ડે ઉજવણીના બહાને જાહેર માર્ગ પર વગર પીધે છાકટા થઇને જંગલીયત પર ઉતરી આવતા હતા. પોતાના મિત્રની સાથે ટપોરીઓને પણ શરમાવે એ રીતે મારઝૂડ અને જુલ્મો આચરતા સુરતી યંગસ્ટર્સની આખરે શાન ઠેકાણે લાવવા માટે પોલીસ કમિશનરે જાહેર માર્ગ પર બર્થડે બમ્પસના સેલિબ્રેશન પર પ્રતિબંધ લાદવો પડ્યો હતો. બર્થ ડે પર ઘાતકી રીતે મારઝૂડ કરવાનો ટ્રેન્ડ મિડલ અને લોઅર મિડલ ક્લાસ પરિવારના યંગસ્ટર્સમાં જ જોવા મળતો હતો. જ્યારે બર્થ ડે ની જાહેર માર્ગ પર ઉજવણી કરતા ત્યારે આ સુરતી યંગસ્ટર્સ એટલી જંગલિયત પર ઉતરી આવતા હતા કે મારઝૂડની સાથે ગાળાગાળી કરીને આખા વિસ્તારમાં અશાંતિ મચાવી મૂકતા હતા.

પણ હવે સુરત પોલીસ કમિશનર સતિષ શર્માએ જંગલીયતભર્યા બર્થ ડે સેલિબ્રેશન સામે નિષેધાત્મક આદેશ જાહેર કર્યો છે.
પોલીસ કમિશનરના આદેશો બાદ આસિસ્ટન્ટ કમિશનર ઓફ પોલીસ, સ્પેશિયલ બ્રાન્ચ, પી.એલ. ચૌધરીએ આઈપીસી 188 અંતર્ગત આદેશોની અવગણના ન થાય તે માટે એક જાહેરનામું બહાર પાડ્યું છે. જે અંતર્ગત પોલીસ આ જાહેરનામાનો ભંગ કરતી કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિની ધરપકડ કરી શકશે.
સુરતના અડાજણ, ઉમરા, ડુમસ વગેરે વિસ્તારમાં પોલીસના ધ્યાનમાં આવ્યું હતું કે જાહેર જગ્યાઓ પર ખાસ કરીને મુખ્ય માર્ગો પર થતી જન્મદિવસની ઉજવણી હિંસાત્મક અને જાહેર જીવનમાં ખલેલ પહોંચાડનારી બનતી હતી. એક યુવકનો બર્થ ડે સેલિબ્રેટ કરવામાં આવી રહ્યો હતો તે સમયે તેને પહેલા બાંધી દીધો હતો અને બાદમાં તેના પર ઈંડા ફેંકવામાં આવ્યા. પાડોશીનું ધ્યાન જતાં તેણે યુવકને છોડાવતા તે બેભાન થઈને નીચે ઢળી પડ્યો હતો.
બર્થ ડે બમ્પસ સામે પ્રતિબંધ મૂકવાની આખા દેશમાં પહેલ કરનારા પોલીસ કમિશનર શ્રી શર્માએ કહ્યું હતું કે, ‘આ જાહેરનામું લોકોમાં સાવચેત કરવા માટે બહાર પાડવામાં આવ્યું છે કે, કેટલાક પ્રકારની ઉજવણી જીવન માટે ખતરારૂપ હોય છે અને તેનાથી બચીને રહેવું જોઈએ. પોલીસ માત્ર જાહેર માર્ગ પર કેક લગાવનારને નહીં, પરંતુ પીટાઈ કરનારને તેમજ અન્ય સંબંધિત ગુનાઓમાં પણ કેસ દાખલ કરશે.
હિંસક રીતે જન્મદિવસની ઉજવણીની બાબતમાં પોલીસ રસ્તા તેમજ અન્ય જાહેર સ્થળો પર પેટ્રોલિંગ કરશે. પોલીસ પેટ્રોલિંગ ટીમ આવી રીતે થતી ઉજવણીઓ પર પણ નજર રાખશે તેમ એક વરિષ્ઠ પોલીસ અધિકારીએ જણાવ્યું. ડુમસ રોડ પર જન્મદિવસની ઉજવણી નિયમિત રીતે થાય છે, જેના કારણે મુસાફરો, ફુટપાથ પર બેસતા તેમજ પરિવાર અને મિત્રો સાથે ફરવા આવતા લોકોને ખલેલ પહોંચે છે.
તામિલનાડુના નાનકડા ગામમાં જન્મેલી પણ સર્ફિંગની ગજબ આવડત ધરાવતી કમલી મૂર્તિ પર એક શાોર્ટ ફિલ્મ બની છે જેમાં તેની સિંગલ મધરની દીકરીને ઉછેરવાની સંઘર્ષ ગાથા વણી લેવાઈ છે. ભારતીયો માટે ગર્વની વાત એ છે કે આ ફિલ્મ આખી દુનિયામાં વખણાઈ છે. એટલાન્ટા ફિલ્મ ફેસ્ટિવલમાં આ ફિલ્મના ભારે વખાણ થયા હતા. મહાબલિપુરમમાં શૂટ થયેલી આ ફિલ્મને ઓસ્કાર્સ 2020 માટે નોમિનેટ કરવામાં આવી છે.
આ ફિલ્મમાં સુગંથિ નામની એક યુવતીની વાત છે જે કમલીની સિંગલ મધર છે. તે માછલી વેચીને ગુજરાન ચલાવે છે અને તે સ્ત્રી શક્તિનો પર્યાય છે. દીકરીને ઉછેરવા અને તેનું સ્કેટબોર્ડિંગ ચેમ્પિયન બનવાનું સપનુ પૂરુ કરવા માટે તે અનેક અડચણોનો સામનો કરવા તૈયાર થઈ જાય છે. કમલી મૂર્તિની માતા તેનો સૌથી મોટો આધાર છે.
સ્કેટર ટોની હોકે તેનો સ્કેટ શોટ શેર કર્યો પછી કમલીની સંઘર્ષ ગાથા લાખો લોકો સુધી ઈન્ટરનેટના માધ્યમથી પહોંચી હતી. આ છોકરીએ કોઈ ટ્રેડિશનલ સ્કેટર ગિયર પણ નહતું પહેર્યું, તે ફ્રોક પહેરીને સ્કેટિંગ કરી રહી હતી. તેના પગ ખૂલ્લા હતા અને વાળ છૂટ્ટા હતા. છતાંય તેના ચહેરા પરની એકાગ્રતા તેના પેશનની ચાડી ખાતી હતી. આ તસવીરે આખી દુનિયાના લોકોના દિલ જીતી લીધા હતા.

Young Skateboarder Kamali Murthy, Muse For The Film ‘Kamali’, Boards The Train To Fame
It was one fateful day for little Kamali Moorthy when she was spotted by photographer, skater, and surfboarder Jamie Thomas. He clicked the contrasting image of a barefoot Kamali, with her hair going awry, clad in a white cotton frock, skating with the expressions of a seasoned skateboarder, everything about which spelled rebellion.
Skating icon and superstar Tony Hawk then shared Kamali’s picture with the caption “new favourite skate shot” on Instagram and soon the little skateboarder from Mahabalipuram went viral. In almost no time the six-year-old emerged out as a symbol of empowerment for Indian women.
Soon after in December 2016 a filming crew found their way to Bangalore to trace and film “burgeoning female skate movement for a music video for Wild Beasts’ single, Alpha Female.” The video gained immense popularity as everyone got intrigued and bombarded the crew with questions about the “skating sari girls.” The response inspired the crew to narrate the story of these girls and how skateboarding altered their lives and thus Kamali became the eponymous muse for the film Kamali.
You’d be surprised to know that besides the traditional fishing, Mahabalipuram boasts of a strong surfing culture. While the residents of the Fisherman’s Colony where Kamli resides are mostly into fishing, some of them have embraced the sea to surf as well. Kamali’s is an eccentric story as she was taught surfing by Áine Edwards who introduced her to Jamie, her skateboard was later sponsored by someone who spotted her surfing and later Jamie gifted her his own skateboard which she cherishes more than her own life.
Suganthi, Kamali’s mother, believes that letting Kamali follow her dreams will empower her to break free from the vicious cycle of poetry that they entrapped into. She has made up her mind to support her and will do it even if her family objects to it. “Kamali is becoming a symbol of hope for the future of women in India,” as the movie website says and her mother is determined to give her all the access to education and independence that she couldn’t have any access to.
The movie is aiming to be a story of empowerment and its proceeds will go to Kamali’s education and inspire more girls from the area to take up skateboarding. “In India, a female skateboarder is a symbol; a symbol of going against the grain, standing boldly in front of society and taking ownership of one’s life.” The image of Kamali in her white frock is all of that and more. The shooting of the movie is over and we can hardly wait for it to hit the screens.
ધો.12 સાયન્સ બી ગ્રુપના સીબીએસઇ, આઇસીએસઇ તેમજ ગુજરાત બોર્ડના પરીણામો જાહેર થઇ ચૂક્યા છે, પણ મેડીકલ, ડેન્ટલ, હોમિયોપેથી અને આયુર્વેદિકમાં પ્રવેશ માટે ફરજિયાત નીટ પરીક્ષાના પરીણામને હજુ કમસે કમ 25 દિવસ જેટલો સમય બાકી છે.
નેશનલ ટેસ્ટીંગ ઓથોરિટીના સૂત્રોના જણાવ્યા અનુસાર તેમજ એન.ટી.એ.ના નોટિફિકેશનની માહિતી અનુસાર નીટ 2019નું પરીણામ તા.5મી જુન 2019ની આસપાસ જાહેર થશે.
મેડીકલ, ડેન્ટલ, હોમિયોપેથી અને આયુર્વેદિકમાં પ્રવેશ ઇચ્છુક વાલીઓ અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે આ 25 દિવસનો સમયગાળો ભારે ઉચાટ વાળો રહેશે. જે વિદ્યાર્થીઓના નીટમાં 350થી નીચે સ્કોર આવે તેવું ગણિત છે એવા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને વાલીઓ માટે આ સમયગાળો ભારે કપરો બની રહેશે. એક તરફ એવી મૂંઝવણ હશે કે મેડીકલમાં પ્રવેશ મળશે કે નહીં અને બીજી તરફ પ્રાઇવેટ મેડીકલ કોલેજો તેમજ ફોરેનની મેડિકલ કોલેજોમાં પ્રવેશ અપાવતા ધંધાદારી એજન્ટોના રોજેરોજ ફોનકોલ્સ અને મેસેજિસ આવશે.
ગુજરાતમાં મેડિકલ, પેરામેડિકલ કોલેજોમાં પ્રવેશ માટે રચવામાં આવેલી કમિટી પણ નીટના પરીણામ સુધી નિષ્ક્રીય બેસી રહે છે. અત્યાર સુધી એવું જ અનુભવાયું છે કે પરીણામ આવ્યા પછીના દોઢથી બે મહિના પછી પ્રવેશ કમિટી રજિસ્ટ્રેશન પ્રક્રિયા શરૂ કરે છે. નીટના પરીણામને હજુ 25 દિવસની વાર છે ત્યાં સુધી મેડીકલ પ્રવેશ સમિતિ, એન્જિનિયરિંગની વ્યવસ્થાની જેમ રજિસ્ટ્રેશન પ્રોસેસ પૂરી કરી દે તો બાદમાં પ્રવેશ કાર્યવાહી ઝડપથી હાથ ધરી શકાશે. પરંતુ, હજુ સુધી પ્રવેશ સમિતિ વહેલી જાગે તેવા કોઇ અણસાર જણાતા નથી.
એજન્ટોની માયાજાળમાં ફસાવવા કરતા સ્વયં પ્રયત્ન કરો
નીટના પરીણામ સુધી પ્રાઇવેટ મેડીકલ કોલેજોમાં પ્રવેશ અપાવતા એજન્ટો તેમજ ફોરેનમાં મેડીકલ એડમિશન અપાવતા એજન્ટો પોતાની માયાજાળ બિછાવીને વાલીઓને અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એવા ડરાવશે કે ઘણાં વાલીઓ અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તેમની વાતોમાં આવી જઇને રશીયા, ચાઇના, ફિલિપાઇન્સ, યુક્રેન વગેરે જેવી મેડીકલ કોલેજોમાં પ્રવેશ માટેની ટોકન એમાઉન્ટ પણ આપી દેશે.
ફોરેન મેડીકલ ભણવા જવામાં કશું ખોટું નથી પરંતુ, એજન્ટોને બિનજરૂરી દોઢથી અઢી લાખ રૂપિયા ચૂકવવા કરતા વાલીઓ અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ જાતે જ ફોરેનની કોલેજોની વેબસાઇટ પરથી કોલેજનો સંપર્ક કરીને એડમિશન મેળવવું જોઇએ. આ પ્રક્રિયાથી એજન્ટોને આપવાની થતી દોઢથી અઢીલાખ જેવી માતબર રકમ બચાવી શકાય છે.
મેડીકલ અને પેરામેડિકલમાં ગયા વર્ષનું કટઓફ શું હતું
તા.9મી મે 2019 ના રોજ ગુજરાત બોર્ડનું ધો.12 સાયન્સનું પરીણામ ઘોષિત થવાનું છે. સૌથી વધુ સમસ્યા ધો.12 બાયોલોજી ગ્રુપ સાથે અભ્યાસ કરતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ કે જેઓ એમબીબીએસ કરવા ઇચ્છતા હોય છે પરંતુ, તેમનો નીટ પરીક્ષાનો સ્કોર એવો હોય છે કે તેમને ગુજરાત કે ભારતની મેડીકલ કોલેજોમાં એમબીબીએસમાં પ્રવેશ મળી શકતો નથી. આવા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે અહીં મેડીકલ કાઉન્સિલ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયાએ માન્ય કરેલી વિશ્વભરની મેડીકલ કોલેજોની યાદી પ્રકાશિત કરવામાં આવી છે કે જ્યાં ભારતીય વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અભ્યાસ કરીને ડોક્ટરીની પદવી મેળવી શકે છે.
એ બાબત પણ ધ્યાનમાં લેવી જોઇએ કે ફોરેનની મેડીકલ ગ્રેજ્યુએશનની ડિગ્રી ધરાવતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ભારતમાં તબીબી વ્યવસાય કરવા માટે પાછા આવવું હોય ત્યારે તેમણે ભારતમાં એફ.એમ.જી.ઇ. (ફોરેન મેડીકલ ગ્રેજ્યુએશન એક્ઝામ) આપવી પડે છે.
અમેરિકા, કેનેડા, યુ.કે., ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા, ન્યુઝિલેન્ડ જેવા દેશમાંથી મેડીકલ ગ્રેજ્યુએટ થતાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ એફ.એમ.જી.ઇ ટેસ્ટ આપવી પડતી નથી.

It has come to the notice of the Medical Council of India that some Agents are providing misleading/false/fabricated information to the Indian Nationals who are desirous of taking admission in MBBS or its equivalent course in a University/Institution located outside India with regard to the fee structure, recognition/approval of the particular medical University/Institution, duration of the course etc.
The public at large is advised that before taking admission in MBBS or its equivalent course in a university outside India, confirmation of the fee structure and duration of the course should be directly obtained from the University/Institution concerned.
As far as status of recognition of a particular university/institution is concerned, it is informed that as per clause 4(1) of the Screening Test Regulation, 2002, any primary medical qualification which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding such qualification is situated, can be considered to be a recognized medical qualification by the Medical Council of India for the purposes of issuance of Eligibility Certificate, entitle a candidate to appear in the Screening Test and grant of provisional/permanent registration by the concerned State Medical Council. Therefore, the candidates concerned are hereby advised to confirm the status of the medical qualification and its awarding university/institution from the Indian Embassy concerned and/or from the Medical Council of India. Prior to taking admission the candidates must make enquiries regarding fee structure from the Institution/University concerned.
Based upon the information received from the Indian Embassy/High Commission of India concerned, the list of foreign universities/institutions as approved/recognized by the authorities concerned in respective countries is given below:-
It is further informed that the Medical Council of India has neither appointed nor authorized any Agent/Broker/Lisioning Officer for admission of students into any medical course in India and abroad.

It is stated that the Council has received a letter No.PEK/EDU/GNE/2013-4 dated April 8, 2013 and receiving date in the Council on 01.05.2013 from Sh. Vinayak Prataprao Chavan, First Secretary (Edu), Embassy of India, Beijing, China alongwith a letter/circular of Ministry of Educations of the people’s Republic of China in which the mentioned that the Department of International Cooperation and exchange of Ministry of Educations of People’s Republic of China, has issued a list of Institutions of higher learning recruiting International students of Clinical Medicine (English Medium) for the Academic year 2013-2014.
They have further stated that International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China presents its compliments to the Embassy of Republic of India in China and has the honor to inform that ‘Name List of Universities that Enroll Undergraduate Clinical Major (English teaching) Foreign Students and enrollment Plan for the year 2013/2014. It is stated that Council has received a letter from the PRC Ministry of Education, which they mentioned that the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China Ministry, has presents its compliments to the Indian Embassy for enrolment of Foreign Students in Under Graduate Clinical and Oral Medicine courses for the academic year 2012-2013.
They have further stated that the Department of Education of Peoples Republic of China has institutionalized the enrolment plan for 2012-2013 which include 50 colleges/universities teaching in English medium. Further they have enclosed a list of 50 Colleges/Universities and other related information can be downloaded from their website i.e. www.studyinchina.edu.cn. The names of 50 universities are mentioned as under:-

As per the decision of the Executive Committee at its meeting held on 24.8.2007, the Council issues Eligibility Certificate only to those candidates who opted to take admission in those colleges as per the list send by Embassy of India, Beijing. Now, they have sent the list for the year 2011-2012.

Medical Council of India has received a letter dated 26.7.2007 from First Secretary(P-II), Embassy of India, Beijing, China, stating as under:-
We have come across a report in the Chinese-language press about the announcement yesterday(25 July) of a provisional set of measures designed to impose stricter control, on English-language undergraduate Medical education imparted to foreign students in China. The full translation of the report, published in the official “Guangming Daily” of today (26 July) is enclosed herewith.
You may like to note that many of the concerns raised in respect of Indian Medical students in China are sought to be addressed through these provisional measures. It is apparent that more control will be exercised by the designated bodies of the Chinese Ministry of Education. So far, as you are well aware, the Medical education institutes have been following their own standards for intake of foreign students.
The report also mentions 30 Medical education institutes approved to enroll foreign students. From the website of the Ministry of Education, we obtained the list, along with their planned foreign students intake for the year 2007-08 (copy enclosed). While this does not answer our question on the status of students already enrolled in other institutes (and we have sought meeting with the Ministry of Education here to clarify this), it may be ensured in the meanwhile that no eligibility certificates are issued by concerned authorities in India for study in institutes other than those in the list.
We are also obtaining the full set of the regulations, and will share with you our opinion after going through them in detail. In the meantime, grateful if the findings of the Ministry of Health delegation that visited China in June 2007 are shared with us, with instructions, if any, to Indian students in China.
In view of above, Medical Council of India has decided that w.e.f. 26.7.2007, the Eligibility Certificate should be issued only for the following institutes in China up to the number specified against each in respect of desirous of having Medical education in China:-

It has further been decided that in respect of six institutes in the above table for which the Government of China has decided not to have any intake in 2007-08 , no eligibility certificate should be issued in respect of the candidates desiring to have admissions in these six institutes for the current academic year.

ADVERTISEMENT : It is hereby brought to the notice of all concerned that as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 ( as amended in 2001) and the Eligibility Requirements for taking Admission in an undergraduate Medical Course in Foreign Medical Institution Regulations, 2002, any candidate who has passed the qualifying examination either from India or an equivalent examination from abroad and is desirous of joining an undergraduate Medical course in any foreign Medical Institutions on or after 15th March, 2002 has to approach the Medical Council of India for issue an Eligibility Certificate for that purpose. The form of application for issue of Eligibility Certificate may be obtained from the Council office and the application should be submitted with all the relevant documents including a demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) in favour of Secretary, Medical Council of India, New Delhi. Copy of the application form is also available on the website of the Council ( www.mciindia.org ). No candidate who has obtained admission in any foreign Medical institution on or after 15th March, 2002 shall be permitted to sit for the Screening Test, after obtaining the Medical degree from abroad, for the purpose of registration in India, unless he/she produces the Eligibility Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India.Any further details may be obtained from the office of the Medical Council of India, New Delhi.
ટ્રેન મોડી પડવાને કારણે મેડિકલમાં પ્રવેશ માટેની નેશનલ ઇલેજિબિલિટી કમ એન્ટ્રન્સ ટેસ્ટ (NEET)ની પરીક્ષા ચૂકનાર કર્ણાટકના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને વધુ એક તક આપવાની જાહેરાત કેન્દ્રીય પ્રધાન પ્રકાશ જાવડેકરે કરી હતી. આ વિદ્યાર્થીઓની પરીક્ષા 20મી મેને દિવસે લેવામાં આવશે.
જાવડેકરે ટ્વિટર પર જણાવ્યું હતું કે મને આ વાત જણાવતા આનંદ થાય છે કે ટ્રેન મોડી પડવાને કારણે કર્ણાટકના જે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ નિટની પરીક્ષા ચૂક્યા હતા, એમને વધુ એક તક આપવામાં આવશે. આ પરીક્ષા રવિવારે આખા દેશમાં લેવામાં આવી હતી, પણ કર્ણાટકના સેંકડો વિદ્યાર્થીઓની ટ્રેન પરીક્ષાના ચોક્કસ સમય કરતા બેંગલોર એક કલાક મોડી પહોંચી હતી.
કર્ણાટકના ભૂતપૂર્વ મુખ્ય પ્રધાન સિદ્ધારામૈયાએ આ મામલો ટ્વિટર પર હાઇલાઇટ કર્યો હતો અને એને વડા પ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીને ટૅગ કર્યો હતો. નેશનલ ટેસ્ટિંગ એજન્સી આ પરીક્ષા લે છે અને એમણે પરીક્ષા કેન્દ્રમાં કોઇ ફરેફાર ન કર્યો હોવાની જાહેરાત કરી હતી.
ઓડિશામાં પણ ચક્રવાત ફોનિને કારણે પરીક્ષા લંબાવીને 20મી મેને દિવસે લેવાનો નિર્ણય લેવાયો હતો.
