MBBSના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે એક માસનો ફાઉન્ડેશન કોર્સ ફરજિયાત

તબીબી ક્ષેત્રમાં કારકિર્દી બનાવવા ઇચ્છતા એમબીબીએસના છાત્રોમાં પ્રોફેશનલિઝમ અને સિદ્ધાંતો અંગેની ઉંડાણપૂર્વકની સમજ કેળવાય તેમજ એક તબીબ તરીકે સમાજ પ્રત્યે તેમનું ઉત્તરદાયિત્વ કેવી રીતે અદા કરી શકાય એ માટે મેડીકલ કાઉન્સિલ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયાએ આજે એક મહિનાનો ફાઉન્ડેશન કોર્સ લોંચ કર્યો છે. MBBSમાં અભ્યાસ કરતા દરેક વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે આ કોર્સ ફરજિયાત બનાવવામાં આવ્યો છે.

નીતિ આયોગના સભ્ય અને એમ.સી.આઇ.ના ચેરમેન વીકે પૉલ એ જણાવ્યું હતું કે….

As part of the Professionalism and Ethics module, students will also learn about disability rights, disability etiquettes while addressing patients with disabilities along with medical and social models of disability. Professional attributes such as accountability, altruism, empathy, compassion and humanism will be extensively discussed.

To orient the students to the care delivery system, field visits to community and primary health centres along with interactions with health care workers, patients and their families have also been incorporated in the course. A module on sports and extracurricular activities has been integrated, with 4 and 2 hours per week allocated for sports and extracurricular activities, respectively, to make the students understand the work-life balance.

એમબીબીએસના અભ્યાસક્રમમાં સુધારણાના ભાગરૂપે જ દેશમાં એમબીબીએસ કોર્સમાં જોડાયેલા તમામ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે આ કોર્સ ફરજિયાત બનાવવામાં આવ્યો છે અને ચાલુ વર્ષથી જ તેનો અમલ કરવામાં આવશે.

તબીબી જગતમાં કાર્યરત વ્યવસાયિકો માટે જરૂરી છે કે તેઓ જ્યાં જે વિસ્તારમાં હોય ત્યાં એ વિસ્તારની સ્થાનિક ભાષાની જાણકારી આવશ્યક છે અને એના વગર અસરકારક રીતે સારવાર, નિદાન સંભવ નથી. એટલા માટે જ ફાઉન્ડેશન કોર્સમાં લોકલ લેંગ્વેજને શીખવા પર ભાર મૂકવામાં આવ્યો છે. વિદ્યાર્થીઓ એમ.બી.બી.એસ. અભ્યાસ માટે એક રાજ્યમાંથી બીજા રાજ્યમાં જાય છે અને ત્યાં તેમની માતૃભાષાથી અલગ ભાષા બોલાતી હોય છે, આવા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને લોકલ ભાષા શીખવાડવામાં આવશે.
