આયુર્વેદિક ડોક્ટરોને હવે જનરલ સર્જરી કરવાની સત્તાવાર મંજૂરી

હાલમાં જ્યારે દેશભરમાં મેડીકલ અને પેરામેડિકલ અભ્યાસક્રમોમાં પ્રવેશની કામગીરી ચાલી રહી છે ત્યારે આવેલા એક મહત્વના સમાચાર એ છે કે આયુર્વેદના ડોકટરોને પણ જનરલ અને ઓર્થોપેડિક સર્જરી સાથે આંખ, કાન અને ગળાની સર્જરી કરવા માટેની સત્તાવાર રીતે મંજૂરી આપવામાં આવી છે.

કેન્દ્ર સરકાર રચિત સેન્ટ્રલ કાઉન્સિલ ઓફ ઈન્ડિયન મેડિસિન દ્વારા જારી કરાયેલા નોટિફિકેશનમાં કહેવામાં આવ્યું છે કે અનુસ્નાતક (પીજી) વિદ્યાર્થીઓને વિવિધ સર્જરી વિશે વિસ્તૃત માહિતી આપવામાં આવશે.

આયુર્વેદિક તબીબો જનરલ સર્જિકલ, ઇ.એન.ટી., ઓપ્થેલમોલોજી, ઓર્થો અને ડેન્ટલ પ્રોસિજર અન્વયે આવતી સર્જરી આયુર્વેદિક હોસ્પિટલ્સના ઓપરેશન થિયેટરોમાં હાથ ધરી શકશે. એમ સેન્ટ્રલ કાઉન્સિલ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયન મેડીસીન દ્વારા જણાવવામાં આવ્યું છે.

The notification dated November 19 listed the procedures that will be included in the PG training of Ayurveda doctors by amending the Indian Medicine Central Council (Post Graduate Ayurveda Education) Regulations, 2016. It stated that the amendments were being made with the sanction of the central government.

During the period of study, post-graduate scholars of Shalya tantra (general surgery) and Shalakya tantra (surgeries of the ear, nose, throat, head and eye) will be practically trained to perform various surgical procedures independently. General surgical procedures include amputation of gangrene, skin grafting, laparotomy (opening up of the abdomen), many advanced gastro-intestinal surgeries. Under Shalakya tantra they will be trained to do fairly advanced ophthalmic surgeries such as iris prolapse surgery, squint surgery, cataract surgeries of all kinds.
