ઇન્ડીયન કાઉન્સિલ ઓફ મેડિકલ રિસર્ચે તા.19મી મે 2021ના રોજ મહત્વની જાહેરાતમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે કોરોના ટેસ્ટીંગને વધુ વ્યાપક અને છેવાડા સુધી પહોંચાડવા માટે ટૂંક સમયમાં ભારતમાં હોમ (ગૃહ) બેઝ્ડ રેપિડ એન્ટીજન ટેસ્ટ શક્ય બનશે. કોરોનાના કોઇપણ લક્ષણ ધરાવતી વ્યક્તિ મેડીકલ સ્ટોર પરથી રેપિડ એન્ટીજન ટેસ્ટ કીટ ખરીદીને પોતાનો ટેસ્ટ જાતે કરી શકશે અને તેનું રિપોર્ટિંગ નિર્ધારિત મોબાઇલ એપ્લિકેશન મારફતે થઇ શકશે. ગ્રામિણ વિસ્તારોમાં કે જ્યાં હજુ સુધી કોરોના ટેસ્ટિંગની સુવિધા નથી અગર તો વિલંબથી ટેસ્ટીંગ રિપોર્ટ મળી રહ્યા છે ત્યાં આ પદ્ધતિ મારફતે ઘનિષ્ટ ટેસ્ટીંગ થઇ શકે તેમ હોવાથી આઇ.સી.એમ.આર.એ ભારતમાં હોમબેઝ્ડ રેપિડ એન્ટિજન ટેસ્ટને મંજૂરી આપવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે.

ફક્ત કોરોનાના નિર્ધારિત લક્ષણો પૈકી કોઇ એક લક્ષણ ધરાવતા વ્યક્તિઓ હોમબેઝ્ડ રેપિડ એન્ટિજન ટેસ્ટ કરી શકશે. તદુપરાંત કોરોના પોઝીટીવ દર્દીઓના સંપર્કમાં આવેલા લોકો માટે આ ટેસ્ટ આશીર્વાદ રૂપ બની શકે છે.

ઘરે કોરોનાની ટેસ્ટિંગ માટે રેપિડ એન્ટિજન કિટ કોવિસેલ્ફ ટીએમ (CoviSelfTM)- પેથોકેચ બનાવવામાં આવી છે. આને પુણે સ્થિત માઇલેબ ડિસ્કવરી સૉલ્યૂશન નામની કંપનીએ તૈયાર કરી છે. આ કિટના ઘરે ઉપયોગને લઈને એક એપ પણ બનાવવામાં આવી છે, જેના પ્રયોગની રીત જાણી શકાય. જો કે, આઇસીએમઆરે આના અંધાધુંધ ઉપયોગને લઈને ચેતવણી આપી છે.

આઇસીએમઆરે કહ્યું કે ટેસ્ટ કિટ સાથે મોબાઇલ એપ પરીક્ષણને લઈને સંપૂર્ણ માહિતી આપે છે. આના દરેક યૂઝરને સલાહ છે કે તે ટેસ્ટ પૂરી કર્યા પછી આવેલા પરિણામનો એક ફોટો મોબાઇલ પર લેવો અને એપ પર અપલોડ કરવો. જેથી ફોનમાં રહેલ ડેટા કેન્દ્રના સુરક્ષિત સર્વરમાં એકઠો થશે અને આઇસીએમઆરના કોવિડ-19 ટેસ્ટિંગ પોર્ટલમાં પણ ટેસ્ટની માહિતી પહોંચી જશે. આઇસીએમઆરે કહ્યું કે તેમની પાસે દર્દીઓની માહિતી સંપૂર્ણ ગુપ્ત રહેશે.

ICMRએ કહ્યું – જેમનો ટેસ્ટ પૉઝિટીવ આવે, તે પોતાને સંક્રમિત માને- ICMRએ ટેસ્ટ કિટ્સના દુરુપયોગને અટકાવવા માટે કહ્યું કે તે આનો ઉપયોગ એવા લોકો કરે, જેમને કોવિડ-19ના લક્ષણ છે અથવા તે કોઇ એવા વ્યક્તિના સંપર્કમાં આવ્યા જેઓ કોરોના સંક્રમિત છે. આના અંધાધુંધ ટેસ્ટિંગની સલાહ આપવામાં આવતી નથી. જેટલા પણ લોકોનો ટેસ્ટ રિપૉર્ટ પૉઝિટીવ આવ્યો છે, તે ખરેખર પૉઝિટીવ માનવામાં આવે અને વારંવાર ટેસ્ટિંગની કોઇ જરૂર નથી.

કેટલી હશે ટેસ્ટની કિંમત
મીડિયા રિપૉર્ટ્સ પ્રમાણે, આ ટેસ્ટ કિટ બનાવનારી કંપની માઇલેબે પણ આની કિંમત નક્કી કરી છે. પાંચ મહિનામાં તૈયાર થયા પછી લૉન્ચિંગના સમયે આના લોકોને 250 રૂપિયા પ્રતિ કિટ પ્રમાણે ચૂકવવાના રહેશે. કંપનીના એમડી પ્રમાણે, આ ટેસ્ટ કિટ આવતા અઠવાડિયે માર્કેટમાં આવી શકે છે.

15 મિનિટમાં આવશે પરિણામ
કહેવામાં આવ્યું છે કે આની મદદથી ટેસ્ટ રિઝલ્ટ જાણવામાં વધારેથી વધારે 15 મિનિટનો સમય લાગશે. પૉઝિટીવ પરિણામ ફક્ત પાંચથી 7 મિનિટમાં જ ખબર પડી જશે, જ્યારે નેગેટિવ રિઝલ્ટ વિશ વધુમા વધુ 15 મિનિટ લાગશે. આ સિવાય ટેસ્ટ કરનાર વ્યક્તિએ પોતાના ફોનમાં માયલેબ કોવેસેલ્ફ એપ ડાઉનલોડ કરવાની રહેશે.

Here is all you need to know about the home-based rapid antigen testing kit for Covid-19:

1) The home-based rapid antigen testing kit manufactured by Mylab Discovery Solutions Ltd, Pune, has been validated and approved by the ICMR.

2) Only a nasal swab will be required for this rapid antigen testing.

3) The name of the kit is CoviSelfTM(PathoCatch) COVID-19 OTC Antigen LF device.

4) The kit comes with a pre-filled extraction tube, a sterile nasal swab, one test card, and a biohazard bag. The person undertaking the test will have to download the Mylab coviself app on their mobile phone.

5) The home testing mobile app is available in Google play store and Apple store and must be downloaded by all users.

6) The mobile app is a comprehensive guide of the testing procedure and will provide a positive or negative test result to the patient.

7) There will be two sections on the test card—the control section and the test section.

8) If the bar shows up only at the control section ‘C’, the result is negative, and if the bar appears on both the control section and test (T) section, the test is positive.

9) According to a report in Hindustan Times, the test kit will be priced at ₹250 per kit.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved a home-based rapid antigen testing (RAT) kit for Covid-19, which will be soon available in the market and can be used for detecting positive cases in home setting.

“Home testing by RAT is advised only in symptomatic individuals and immediate contacts of laboratory confirmed positive cases,” ICMR said in an advisory issued on Wednesday.

The move is expected to make testing widely available and accessible, particularly in rural areas. Besides, home-based RAT would also mean symptomatic people will not necessarily have to step out for testing, lowering the risk of transmission.

The Council also advised against indiscriminate testing. It also said that all test positive individuals are advised to follow home isolation and care as per the ICMR protocol.

Currently, the approved kit is manufactured by Mylab Discovery Solutions and home testing should be conducted as per the procedure described by the manufacturer in the user manual. The home testing mobile App is available in Google play store and Apple store and must be downloaded by all users.

All users are advised to click a picture of the test strip after completing the test procedure with the same mobile phone which has been used for downloading the mobile app and user registration.

Data in the App of mobile phone will be centrally captured in a secure server which is connected with the ICMR Covid-19 testing portal, where all data will be eventually stored.

Manufacturer’s instructions must be strictly followed for disposal of the test kit, swab and other materials.

All individuals who test positive may be considered as true positives and no repeat testing is required, ICMR said.
