ભવિષ્યની પેઢીને સંપૂર્ણ શિક્ષણ આપતી અને નેતૃત્વ માટે સજ્જ કરતી અગ્રિમ યુનિવર્સિટી બનવાનાં લક્ષ્ય સાથે હાલ યુ.એસ.એ. સ્થિત રામા પરિવાર દ્વારા વર્ષ 2011માં ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટીની સ્થાપના થઈ હતી. છેલ્લાં આઠ વર્ષમાં યુનિવર્સિટી દ્વારા સેંકડો યુવાનોને તાલીમબદ્ધ કરીને કુશળ પ્રૉફેશનલ તરીકે તૈયાર કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટીનું લક્ષ્ય શૈક્ષણિક જગત તથા ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષણ ક્ષેત્રે નવા સીમાચિહ્નો સ્થાપિત કરવાનું છે.

ગત ડિસેમ્બર 2018માં જ ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટી યુજીસી (યુનિવર્સિટી ગ્રાન્ટ કમિશન) દ્વારા માન્યતા મેળવનારી દક્ષિણ ગુજરાતની પ્રથમ ખાનગી યુનિવર્સિટી બની છે. ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટીના કાર્યોની વૈશ્વિક સ્વીકૃતિની સાથે સાથે યુજીસી દ્વારા મળેલી આ માન્યતાથી ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટીમાં ઘણાં રાષ્ટ્રીય અને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય કક્ષાના રિસર્ચ પ્રોજેક્ટ્સ હાથ ધરી શકાશે અને તેના માટે આર્થિક સહાય પણ મેળવી શકાશે.

2018-19માં સ્કૂલ ઑફ લિબરલ આર્ટ્સ એન્ડ હ્યુમન સાયન્સિસ તથા સ્કૂલ ઑફ જર્નલિઝમ એન્ડ માસ કોમ્યુનિકેશનનો પણ પ્રારંભ

વર્ષ 2020 સુધીમાં સ્કૂલ ઑફ સાયન્સિસ અને સ્કૂલ ઑફ એજ્યુકેશન

કાર્યરત છે. વર્તમાન શૈક્ષણિક વર્ષ 2018-19માં સ્કૂલ ઑફ લિબરલ આર્ટ્સ એન્ડ હ્યુમન સાયન્સિસ તથા સ્કૂલ ઑફ જર્નલિઝમ એન્ડ માસ કોમ્યુનિકેશનનો પણ પ્રારંભ થયો હતો. આ ઉપરાંત વર્ષ 2020 સુધીમાં સ્કૂલ ઑફ સાયન્સિસ અને સ્કૂલ ઑફ એજ્યુકેશનની શરૂઆત કરવાનું પણ ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટીનું આયોજન છે. ટૂંક સમયમાં જ નવા શૈક્ષણિક કાર્યક્રમો જેવા કે માસ્ટર્સ ઇન હોસ્પિટાલિટી મેનેજમેન્ટ, તથા ડેટા ઍનાલિસિસ, આર્ટિફિશિયલ ઇન્ટેલિજન્સ, ઇન્ટરનેટ ઑફ થિંગ્સ જેવા વિષયોમાં પોસ્ટ ગ્રેજ્યુએટ ડિપ્લોમા અને ઇન્ટિગ્રલ યોગા વિષયમાં સર્ટિફિકેટ કોર્સ શરૂ કરશે. આ ઉપરાંત રૂરલ ઇમર્ઝન પ્રોગ્રામ સાથે નવા શૈક્ષણિક કેન્દ્રો પણ શરૂ કરવાનું આયોજન છે.

યુનિવર્સિટીમાં શૈક્ષણિક પ્રવૃત્તિઓ માટેની નવી માળખાકીય સુવિધાઓ જેવી કે ક્લાસરૂમ્સ, હોસ્ટેલ, ઇન્ટરનેશનલ ટ્રાન્ઝિટ હાઉસ, વિદ્યાર્થી સુવિધા કેન્દ્ર તથા રમતગમત માટેની અદ્યતન સુવિધાઓનું નિર્માણ થશે.

સુરત શહેર અને સુરતવાસીઓ સાથે સાતત્યપૂર્ણ ઘનિષ્ઠતા કેળવવા માટે યુનિવર્સિટી આગામી સમયમાં પોતાના કેમ્પસમાં જ ‘શ્રી ઑરોબિંદો ઇન્ટેગ્રલ લાઇફ સેન્ટર’ની રચના કરશે. આ ઉપરાંત યુનિવર્સિટી દ્વારા નજીકનાં ભવિષ્યમાં વિવિધ સર્ટિફિકેટ કોર્સિસ પણ શરૂ કરવામાં આવશે, જેનો લાભ કામ કરતાં પ્રોફેશનલ્સ, ઉદ્યોગસાહસિકો, ગૃહિણીઓ તથા અન્ય યુનિવર્સિટીઝના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પણ લઈ શકશે.

આગામી રવિવારથી યુનિવર્સિટી ત્રણ દિવસના આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સેમિનારનું આયોજન કરી રહી છે. 27, 28, અને 29 જાન્યુઆરી, 2019 દરમિયાન યોજાનારા આ સેમિનારનો વિષય – ‘ચેલેન્જિંગ પ્રિકેરિટી’ રહેશે. આ સેમિનારનું આયોજન યુ.કે. સ્થિત યુનિવર્સિટી ઑફ નોર્થેમ્પટન, ડબ્લિન સ્થિત ટ્રિનિટી કૉલેજ સાથે મળીને થઈ રહ્યું છે. આ સેમિનારમાં અમેરિકા, યુ.કે., યુરોપ અને ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા જેવા દેશોનાં 29 અધ્યાપકો અને નિષ્ણાતો ભાગ લેશે.

હાઇલાઇટ્સ

• હાલ યુનિવર્સિટી સ્કૂલ ઑફ બિઝનેસ તથા સ્કૂલ ઑફ આઈટીમાં પીએચ.ડી. કાર્યક્રમ સહિત કુલ 29 શૈક્ષણિક કાર્યક્રમો ચાલુ છે. આ ઉપરાંત લિબરલ આર્ટ્સ, લૉ, તથા હોસ્પિટાલિટી સ્કૂલ્સમાં શૈક્ષણિક વર્ષ 2019-20માં પીએચ.ડી. કાર્યક્રમોની શરૂઆત થશે.
• ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટી યુજીસીની માન્યતા મેળવનારી દક્ષિણ ગુજરાતની પ્રથમ ખાનગી યુનિવર્સિટી છે.
• યુનિવર્સિટી આર્થિક પડકારો ધરાવતાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓને બોર્ડિંગ સહિતના શૈક્ષણિક ખર્ચને આવરી લેતી 100 ટકા સ્કૉલરશીપ પૂરી પાડે છે. આ ઉપરાંત અન્ય તમામ વિદ્યાર્થીઓને મેરિટ આધારિત સ્કૉલરશીપ આપે છે.
• યુનિવર્સિટીના અધ્યાપકોના સંશોધન કાર્યમાં મદદરૂપ બનવા માટે ઑરો યુનિવર્સિટીએ મોનોગ્રાફ પબ્લિકેશન ગ્રાન્ટ તથા સીડ મની ફોર રિસર્ચ પ્રોજેક્ટ્સની શરૂઆત કરી છે.

 AURO University was established in 2011 with the vision ‘To be a premier University of Integral and Transformational Learning for future leaders’ by the Rama Family based now in the USA. After 8 years of transforming hundreds of young minds and helping them turn into fine professionals, AURO Universityaspires to achieve new milestones in academic world and provide higher education.

As you must be aware, last month, the University became the first private university in South Gujarat and one of the few in Gujarat to receive the UGC approval. In addition to a globally acceptable validation of our endeavours, this recognition will allow us to host many a national and international collaborative projects and receive funds for research activities.

We are happy to announce that in addition to existing four schools of Business, Hospitality, IT and Law, the University started School of Design in the last academic year. School of Liberal Arts and School of Journalism and Mass Communication were launchedin the current academic year 2018-19.The University plans to start a School of Sciences as well as a School of Education by the year 2020.Soon, we are going to start new programmes like Masters in Hospitality Management, PG Diplomas in Date Analysis, Artificial Intelligent, Internet of Things and Certificate course in Integral Yoga, along with Rural Immersion Program and new centres.

The University is going to add infrastructural facilities in the form of new academic building, hostel, international transit house, students’ facilities centre, and state of the art sports facilities.

Increasing our engagement with the city and the people of Surat, the University will soon have Sri Aurobindo Integral Life Centre on its campus. The University will be also announcing several certificate programmes in near future, which will be open to all.

Starting this Sunday, the University will be holding a three day international seminar               during 27, 28 and 29 January, 2019 on ‘Challenging Precarity’. This seminar, held in collaboration with the University of Northampton (UK) and Trinity College (Dublin), has large number of participants with 29 foreign participants from USA, UK, Europe and Australia.

 Highlights

• Currently University has 29 programs with PhD in School of Business & School of IT. Ph.D. in Liberal Arts, Law & Hospitality will be starting in 2019 – 20.
• AURO University is the first private university in South Gujarat to be approved by UGC under section 2(f) & 22 of the UGC Act and the UGC Regulations 2003.
• The University provides merit scholarships and supports full education of financially challenged students inclusive of boarding, by offering them 100% scholarship.
• In order to support research by faculties, the University has started Monograph Publication Grant and Seed Money for Research Projects for its faculty.
